At the beginning of the film it introduces the main character and the setting. It pans round so you can see machines and Avatars roaming around and who are hooked straight away. It also shows you flash blacks from his life. It does this by zooming in on the characters eyes and a flash of white, this is to make the
audience aware that it is a flash back.
